My base is at the South Airport apartment, and the area is now facing urban renewal and reconstruction, but through research, we find that as a turning point in the planning of Taipei City the historical significance of South Airport remains a position in the memory of later generations, as the airport during the Japanese occupation period, and the first batch of buildings completed after the restoration movement, both his urban texture, architectural style, space form and space experience had a certain impact on Taipei at that time, so that the current residents and users behind both continue the space experience of that time. Although with the passage of time. , the South Airport starts aging and also facing some problems at the same time, so we hope that the social service agencies, the existing schools of the South Airport, and the rapid transit facilities will be built together this time. Although the renovation of the Zhongyi Primary School is being carried out as a new construction project, whether we can keep the memory and spirit of these places of the South Airport here without something new and lost because of update of the city, this is the question that I think about.
My entry point is to translate and partly reappear the texture and memory of the original city in a new place. I observe the texture of the South Airport and the city surrounding , the architectural form, the facade modeling and the moving-line organization in the apartment of South Airport,etc.,the building is used as an intermediary between the old and the new, and corresponds to my space from big to small.
